Luteolin Powder Natural Antioxidants Oil Introduction

Alfalfa extract is most commonly found in leaves, but is also found in peels, bark, clover and ragweed pollen. In addition, it can also be isolated from Salvia tomentosa, an aromatic flowering plant of the family Lactaceae.

Luteolin, which is mainly found in the form of glycosides in various plants, such as blue orchids, peppers, wild chrysanthemums, honeysuckle and perilla leaves, has antitussive and expectorant effects. According to the latest research, respiratory symptoms such as cough, cough and wheezing are related to chronic inflammation of the airways, such as bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic pharyngitis, allergic rhinitis, etc., causing cough, sputum, wheezing, etc., are considered to be associated with local inflammation. Infiltration is associated. The presence of inflammation causes the airway immune response to be impeded, so patients often have increased airway responsiveness.

Treatment should first eliminate chronic inflammatory infiltration of the airways. Glucocorticoids are currently used to eliminate airway inflammation. However, glucocorticoids have many side effects and should not be used for long periods of time.

Studies have shown that luteolin inhibits macrophage phosphorylation, inhibits transcription factor NF-kB activity, and inhibits lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced macrophage production of cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α. In addition, studies have shown that luteolin inhibits the formation of uric acid and promotes uric acid excretion. [3-4] The latter two cytokines play a very important role in the inflammatory mechanism and are sensitive indicators of the degree of inflammation. Luteolin can also increase IFN-γ, reduce specific Ig-E, and reduce eosinophil infiltration. In addition, in addition to anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects, luteolin inhibits PDE, anti-SARS and HIV virus properties by inhibiting the activity of the pre-S protein of SARS virus, thereby preventing its entry into host cells. . It is used to treat chronic cough caused by COPD, bronchial asthma, chronic pharyngitis and allergic rhinitis.

Natural source

Luteolin is widely distributed in nature, originally from the leaves, stems and branches of the genus Resedaodorata L. in Resedaceae. In addition, it can be obtained from a variety of natural herbs. It is mainly found in natural herbs such as honeysuckle, chrysanthemum, schizonepeta, prunella, artichoke, perilla, scutellaria and nude purple pearls, as well as Brussels sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, beets and coconut. Vegetables, carrots, celery, sweet peppers, peppers, peanuts and other vegetables fruits and plants, such as olive oil and red wine, as well as wild balsam, thyme, labiata, whole leaves, blue grass, bones and grass, etc. .

Among them, the chestnut pulp does not contain hibiscus, while the husk contains hibiscus. In the past, there were reports that there were hibiscus in the sour bean leaves.

Extraction process

1. Pretreatment of herbs:

The luteolin-rich medicinal material is washed and dried, and then pulverized into a coarse powder for use.

2. Extraction and purification:

An organic solvent such as methanol, ethanol or acetone is added to the medicinal material powder, and the mixture is refluxed. The extract is concentrated under reduced pressure and then degreased with a solvent such as petroleum ether or cyclohexane, and the aqueous phase is weakly polarized with a macroporous adsorption resin. After washing with water until the effluent was colorless, it was eluted with 95% ethanol as eluent, eluted under reduced pressure, dried in vacuo and recrystallised to afford pure luteolin.

Main Functions

1. It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-viral functions;

2. It has the effect of inhibiting prostate cancer and breast cancer;

3. It can reduce the degree of liver fibrosis and protect liver cells;

4. It has anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and immune-regulating properties that inhibit the overactive immune system.
